there was an excellent programme on Q last night on BBC4 - you can still catch it at BBCi if you mssed it. I knerw he'd done a lot but some was new. A most fascinating man and an essential for all jazz lovers.
And did you know ... not only did he do "Thriller" with Jackson, he also did the whole score for "The Italian Job" - original version. Never the modern trash puhleese! And he did Frank Sinatra, and "It's My Party" ??? and apparently the scores for the latest Austin Powers films - NOT my style but I'll bet the scores are excellent. He was also the producer and conductor of the charity song “We Are the World”.
Quincy Jones is a fascinating man. This article at Wikipedia will give you a good start on him if he's new to you. A brilliant musician in his own right he is also a real mogul in the music business. His name, Quicny Delight Jones, is wonderful and (I think) says a lot. Try the BBCi programme ...
